Classic software is pleased to announce the release of our
newest WinLedge module. Designed to work hand-in-hand with
our
WinLedge Payroll
system, the new WinLedge Human Resource
module will prove to be a valuable add-on to your existing
payroll information system.
The Human resources module is currently comprised of
eight components which are described below:
One (Skills/Certifications and Training)
This component will allow you to record and track skills, certifications
and training sessions by employee. By using user-defined skill and
certification codes, with both hours and ratings you can answer questions like:
- Who has more than 40 hours of training in Word?
- Who is scheduled for Training next month?
- How many employees have a rating of 7.5 in CNC?
- Do we have anyone who is MSDE certified?
Two (Evaluations)
The evaluations module will help you schedule and record details
regarding employee evaluations. You can review based on salary,
performance or both. You can record pre and post evaluation
comments and answer questions like:
- Which employees are due for Salary reviews this month?
Three (Attendance)
You can track an unlimited number of attendance events by employee.
This could include, missed days, sick time, late arrivals. For each
event you can record the date, time, employee, type of event (which
you define) and any comments regarding the event. Reporting allows
you to answer questions like:
- How many times was Jim late in the last six months?
- How many sick days did everyone take this year?
Four (Vacations)
The HR module lets you record employee vacations. This way you can
avoid scheduling multiple vacations during the same time period. The
system lets you specify if you need a replacement employee during
that time. Reports allow you to look at who is going on vacation in a
time period and the duration.
Five (Events/Accidents/Incidents)
This component is quite generic and can be used to record any event or
incident that you deem important. You could, for example use this to
track accidents. Some of the information you can record includes;
employee number, event code, date, dollar amount, reference number,
reference date, event time and a large note field to record the
details. You could answer questions like:
- How many injuries did we have this year?
- How many times did Jim get in trouble with the supervisor this month?
Six (Property)
As expensive computer and electronic equipment have become
popular in the workplace, keeping track of it has also become
more difficult. This component works like a Library system,
where property is checked out and back in. With this option
you can use the built in property file or if you have the
WinLedge GL module you can draw from the Asset file as well.
The system also prints “sign-out” sheets which can
be used to avoid any future disputes. With this component you
can answer questions like:
- How many Laptop computers are out on loan?
- Where are all the overdue training guides?
- Where’s my car?
- How much stuff has Jim borrowed?
Seven (Loans and Advances)
If you give your employees advances or loans this component can
make this process much easier. Firstly, you can setup the loan
or advance amount along with comments and details regarding the
loan. You can optionally set up a deduction in the payroll and
automatically have Winledge deduct the loan from the employee’s
pay cheque. The system will also automatically reduce the balance
owing on the loan for you.
Eight (Applicants)
Lastly, the Human resources module also comes with an Applicants component.
This allows you to record a variety of information about your job postings
and the applicants that apply to them. Full name and address, phone numbers
and a large notes field for your comments are included for each applicant.
The Job Postings are kept in a separate file so that one applicant can apply
to several different postings. You can also assign skill codes and ratings
to the applicants along with certifications as well. Later if the applicant
is hired, you can transfer the information to the Employee file to save
data-entry time. Pre and post interview notes can also help with your
decisions. You can answer questions like:
- Who is rated 7 or more in Microsoft Office?
- Who has a BA?
- List all the people who are CNC certified.
- Who is scheduled for interviews this week?
- What was the name of the lady who was trained in AutoCAD?
- How many job postings do we have open and who has applied so far?
